Chart notes

FOUNTAIN LAKE controlled the tempo along the inside, turned back BOURBON SOCIETY leaving the second turn, dug in to meet the challenge of CHILLAX entering the stretch, battled on doggedly and was unyielding through a prolonged drive. CHILLAX settled in hand, ranged up four wide through the second turn, loomed large and came to level terms a furlong out, fought on but was unable to best the determined winner. SANSONE contended off of the inside, was in traffic and shuffled back leaving the second turn, altered course sharply to the outside to be clear and continued on willingly. CROMWELL lagged well back, came under a ride with three furlongs to run, swung to the far outside entering the stretch and was making up ground. BOURBON SOCIETY prompted the pace outside, disputed the issue to the stretch and tired. STURDY settled saving ground, moved up through the second turn, got through to make his bid entering the stretch but lacked the needed late response. COFFEE TALK was allowed to settle, went wide throughout, mild bid entering the lane, but failed to make headway through the drive. BANDED HUMOR broke slow and was never a factor. KNICKS GATE contended off of the inside to the second turn and dropped out.
