OVERZEALOUS broke a step slow, went five wide on the first turn, settled towards the rear, moved up fast midway down the backstretch, chased three wide on the far turn, made a bid into the stretch, took a short lead into the final furlong then drew away under a mild hand ride to win ridden out. CAP ROCK MINER was asked leaving the gate, moved in early then was straightened by the rider, bumped with FORESTDUNGONE nearing the first turn, went around that bend in the two path, set the clear pace, raced inside to the two path on the far turn, was asked inside the five-sixteenths, came under the whip in upper stretch, lost the advantage into the final furlong and proved no match while able to hold the place. KILLEEN went around the first turn in the two path, made a strong middle move midway down the backstretch, saved ground on the far turn, was roused outside the three-sixteenths then cut the corner into the stretch under the whip and lacked the needed response but was well clear for the show. FORESTDUNGONE bumped with a rival at the start then was hustled, bumped with CAP ROCK MINER early then checked sharply, went three wide on the first turn, tracked outside on the backstretch, made a bid near the seven-sixteenths, vied in the two to three path under urging on the far turn, dropped back late on that bend and had nothing left. SHIRL'S READY bumped with a rival at the start and was off a step slow, went three to four wide on the turns, came five wide into the stretch and failed to threaten. MONEY TREND broke out at the start, went four wide on the first turn, dropped in while settling off the pace on the backstretch, saved ground under urging on the far turn and retreated. Following the race, the rider of FORESTDUNGONE claimed foul against CAP ROCK MINER alleging interference early in the race. After the stewards' review, CAP ROCK MINER was disqualified from second and placed fourth for interference nearing the first turn.
