SOCIAL MISFIT went around the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, moved closer midway down the backstretch then was taken under restraint, tugged hard at the bit while taken under more vigorous restraint into the far turn, drafted in the two path on that bend, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths, came three wide into the stretch then moved out behind the leading duo, rallied on the outside, made a bid outside the sixteenth-pole and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. RIFLE MAN went four then three wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, moved closer with five furlongs to run, drafted two then three wide on the far turn, was roused outside the quarter-pole, rallied four wide into the stretch then made a bid at the three-sixteenths, took the advantage outside the furlong marker, disposed of STAR BANJO outside the sixteenth-pole but was soon challenged by the winner, fought with that foe to the wire and just missed while clear for the place.
