Chart notes
ZABAVA broke out at the start, went three wide on the first turn, settled towards the rear, moved out a bit leaving the backstretch, was roused while four then five wide on the far turn, rallied under the whip into the final furlong, closed strongly into the final sixteenth, drifted out late and got up in the final strides. CUBS WIN broke out then was quickly corrected by the rider, tossed her head while keen into the first turn, went three wide on that bend, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid late on the backstretch, vied three wide on the far turn, gained the lead coming to the quarter-pole, responded well when asked for her best in upper stretch, led under a drive until the final two strides but was denied while just able to get the place. APPLE DAPPLE dropped from the two path to the rail on the first turn, moved out early on the backstretch, settled at the rear, was asked while five then six wide on the far turn, rallied outside while next to the winner into the final furlong, closed strongly into the final sixteenth, drifted out late and just missed while narrowly able to get the show. NORTH OF EDEN went around the first turn in the two path, was rated off the pace, moved up just off the pace with a half-mile to run, raced inside early on the far turn then shifted to the two path, dropped in from behind horses in upper stretch then was put to a drive, gained to make a bid into the final sixteenth and finished with good courage but just missed the trifecta. STROLLIN THE BAYOU broke out at the start, became very rank under restraint nearing the first turn, checked sharply while bearing out eight into the turn, dropped to the five path near the three-quarter pole, was reserved outside on the backstretch, advanced to make a four wide bid on the far turn, battled outside under a drive into the final furlong, dropped back outside the sixteenth-pole and weakened. HERO OF GOLD went to the front, rounded the first turn in the two path, set the clear pace while in hand, dropped from the two path to the rail early on the far turn, was headed while asked shortly thereafter, dropped back into the stretch and gave way. N. D. FREE went four wide on the first turn, settled off the pace, was asked while four wide on the far turn, chased into upper stretch and came up empty.
