Chart notes
THRESHOLD was unhurried early, moved up five wide at the three sixteenths pole and finished well to get up under strong handling. RECORDER settled off the early pace, moved up five wide through the stretch and slowly closed in on the winner in the latter stages. ALLGORILLA stalked the pace, saved ground around the far turn, continued to race along the inside in the lane and finished willingly to the wire. THAT'S BUCKBEAK showed good speed along the inside and weakened a bit in the drive. MARKSMAN was allowed to settle early, raced four wide at the eighth marker and had no late response. BATTLE CREEK was slow early, moved up six wide into the upper stretch and improved his position. RED CAT (CHI) dropped back early on, raced six wide at the eighth pole and never was a factor. IDLE TIME stalked the pace and weakened the final quarter of a mile. BOURBON TAN pressed early on and gave way. OSKAR BLUES raced along the inside in the stretch and failed to respond.
