SMOKEY HARBOR was carried five wide on the first turn then reserved off the pace, came under some urging late on the backstretch, went three wide on the far turn then was driven four wide into the stretch, rallied on the outside, closed strongly to the lead outside the sixteenth-pole under the whip then drew clear while placed under a strong hand ride to the wire. S MAN broke in and bumped with a foe, went three wide on the first turn, contested the pace on the outside, vied in the two path on the far turn, came under a drive in upper stretch, led under the whip into the final furlong but was overtaken and proved no match for the winner but held the place. ONE TIME GEM went around the first turn in the two path, contested the pace on the inside of a foe, bumped with AMES MISTER outside the nine-sixteenths, vied inside of a foe while along the rail on the far turn, was asked for his best in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. MAN ON THE MOON was rated off the pace in the two path, came under urging on the far turn, swung five wide into the stretch and lacked the needed response. AMES MISTER raced inside on the first turn, was taken up briefly while keen near the three-quarter pole, moved up outside the five-eighths pole to make a bid for the lead, bumped with ONE TIME GEM while put in tight quarters nearing the nine-sixteenths then steadied, drafted in the two path on the far turn, brushed with a foe after turning into the stretch and tired. CHIEF ALPHA broke a step slow then bumped with a rival after the start, rounded the first turn in the two path, was reserved at the rear, saved ground on the far turn, came three wide into the stretch, moved out around the sixteenth-pole and failed to threaten. MR. WALSH broke a step slow, was rank under restraint nearing the first turn then lugged out four wide into that bend, continued four wide onto the backstretch, was rated on the outside, went three wide on the far turn, was asked coming to the five-sixteenths, came in a bit and brushed with a foe after turning into the stretch. dropped back into the final furlong and capitulated. NOT A NYKI bumped with a rival at the start while off a step slow, fought the rider nearing the first turn then was taken up while rank into that bend, raced five wide onto the backstretch, settled well back in the field, was urged three then four wide on the far turn, came six wide into the stretch and faltered. WILLIAMS SHINE bumped with rivals on both sides while off a bit slow, was caught six wide on the first turn, settled near the back on the outside, dropped to the rear with three furlongs to run, moved four to three wide on the far turn and also faltered.
