Chart notes
HOOPERDRIVESTHBOAT was bumped at the start and forced out while last away, moved up to take the lead, went around the turn in the two path, floated four wide into the stretch, responded well while drifting in under a right-handed whip in the final furlong and just held under steady urging. VEHEMENT tracked the pace on the outside then in the three path on the turn, was carried five wide into the stretch, chased the winner on the outside under a drive, gained in the final sixteenth and just missed while clear for the place. HAWK TAIL was urged along on the outside, went four wide on the turn, was carried six wide into the stretch and finished willingly for the show. WINDCHILL ZAR broke out at the start, was carried in early then lost position while keen under restraint between horses, went around the turn in the three path, was roused at the three-eighths turned into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed response. F J'S GEM dropped back after the start, raced at the rear, went three wide on the turn, came five wide into the stretch and failed to threaten. RONNIE'S REASONING moved up while urged along on the inside, saved ground on the turn and came up empty. MISTER raced towards the rear of the field, went around the turn in the two path, came four wide into the stretch, moved out at the rear around the sixteenth-pole and failed to respond.
