Chart notes
AMERICAN REBEL settled off the pace, moved closer at the half-mile pole, drafted inside on the turn, was asked in the two path at the quarter-pole, split horses coming to the three-sixteenths then took the advantage, kicked clear under a strong hand ride outside the furlong marker, drew off under a drive into the final forty yards then was eased up in the final strides while much the best. MERCEDES LADIES was away alertly, moved out midway down the backstretch while tracking the pace, chased three wide on the turn, made a bid at the three-sixteenths, lost touch with the winner coming to the furlong marker and proved no match while clear for the place. SUGAR PIE STREET settled on the outside, advanced five then four wide on the turn, made a bid nearing the three-sixteenths then drifted out, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened while able to get the show. GIRL IN BLACK moved in while going to the front, showed the way in the two path through the turn, was asked at the quarter-pole then lost the lead in upper stretch and gave way. MAGIC COY broke out and bumped hard with a foe, was urged along towards the rear, raced inside to the two path on the turn and failed to threaten. OUR MARDI GRAS was recalcitrant behind the gate, bumped hard with an opponent at the start, went three wide on the turn and failed to respond. GERRIE LOU veered out at the start and was off slow, spotted the front several lengths, went four then five wide on the turn, came six wide into the stretch and never reached contention. SHOOTING STICK was hustled from the start then taken in hand and rated off the pace, went four wide under urging on the turn and faltered.
