Chart notes
FIRST CITIZEN set a measured pace inside, widened on the final turn and remained safe with reduced advantage late. MR. ROUNDTREE lagged far behind, commenced his rally inside after half a mile then finished full of run too late. SHOOGER RAY TOO settled just off the leaders, bid inside on the final turn and continued gamely. SIR BACK IN BLACK saved ground close up, went after the winner on the final turn and flattened out. RONIN WARRIOR chased wide on the final turn and lacked a rally. BARINGER SPRING settled outside, remained wide and never threatened. DIGGERS DIAMOND pursued the pacesetters four wide and faded after half a mile. WELLING dropped far behind inside and was always outrun. RISQUE REBEL pressed the eventual winner for half a mile and stopped abruptly.
