HARPOON HARRY was rated off the first flight along the inside racing to the backstretch, shifted out three wide nearing upper stretch advancing on the leader to challenge for command, gained the advantage between calls late but was collared nearing the wire. BOURBON BROWN, forwardly placed stalking just off the pacesetter to the backstretch, pressed the issue into the far turn to gain the advantage, resisted a rival's challenge racing into upper stretch but yielded to the top pair late. ESTILO VARONIL, held up avoiding close quarters dropping off the second flight racing into the first turn, dropped out last on the backstretch, was prompted to advance while shifting outside rivals on the far turn, was fanned six wide entering the stretch but continued with interest to gain some position. LOWCOUNTRY tracked off the second flight outside rivals racing to the backstretch, was prompted to advance while caught five wide racing into upper stretch and lacked the needed late kick. SOAKING WET raced in tight quarters between foes as part of the second flight entering the first turn while steadying in traffic, continued between foes into the backstretch but faded after a half. KING RAMOS broke out making light contact with ESTILO VARONIL, was held up along the inside racing to the backstretch and never gained contention. PRIVATE CODE tracked off the first flight three wide racing to the backstretch, was fanned four wide between foes while being prompted to advance nearing upper stretch but came up empty in the drive. BEACH WARRIOR, caught in tight quarters, then forced to steady off rivals behind the second flight racing into the first turn, continued between foes while making some brief progress after a half but emptied out nearing the lane. MONITOR MILLS sped to the lead along the inside, set the pace to the second bend and gave way nearing the lane. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT ON THE FIRST TURN BUT NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
