BRYCE CANYON went around the first turn in the two path, settled in second position while far behind the runaway leader, was urged along while inside on the far turn, rallied along the rail in upper stretch, closed strongly into the final furlong, moved out outside the sixteenth-pole, gained the lead into the final sixteenth and prevailed under good handling. FIELDSTONE raced inside to the two path on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, went two to three wide under urging on the far turn, came four wide into the stretch, rallied on the outside, closed well into the final sixteenth, bumped the shoulder of ULTIMATE IRONY late and was turned into that foe while straightened by the rider and earned the place. ULTIMATE IRONY went three wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, was urged three wide on the far turn, rallied in upper stretch, gained into the final sixteenth, bumped the hindquarters of FIELDSTONE late then steadied briefly and was clear for the show. CANE CREEK ROAD angled in while speeding clear early, ran-off under restraint while two path to the inside, opened up a very large advantage, was let out on the far turn, came under the crop while shortening stride inside the three-sixteenths, remained clear into the final furlong but was engulfed at the sixteenth-pole while tired.
