Chart notes
NEVER COMPROMISE was away in good order to stalk the pace of DOCTOR MCCOY while racing three-wide, moved up to take command nearing the three-sixteenths pole and drew off with complete authority. SPUNMAN lacked early speed, raced four-wide through the third turn and finished with a steady bid. DOCTOR MCCOY sprinted clear at once, saved ground while setting the pace and gave way to the winner after going seven furlongs. GOLDEN APPEAL was fractious at the gate, raced just off the leaders early, moved three-wide the third turn and finished evenly late. SLEW THE TURN settled off the leaders early, saved ground through the third turn and failed to rally. MAN OF THE NIGHT showed no early speed, raced off the rail throughout and was not a factor. RIDING CLOUD NINE was forwardly placed throughout, moved four-wide through the turns, weakened after was eased through the lane.
