Chart notes
FIBER AND EMILY took the lead between horses nearing the first turn and rated a short lead inside, came under pressure toward the three eighths pole, rounded the far turn at the rail and was steadily handled down the lane. RUSH TO THE CASTLE stumbled to his nose leaving the gate and settled off the pace off the rail the opening turn, started a bid leaving the three eighths pole and improved in the three and four paths of the far turn, dueled for second mid-stretch and finished well while gaining on the winner. OPERA NITE stalked inside, bid leaving the three eighths pole and raced close at the rail on the far turn then dueled through the stretch to take third from AARON'S TAP at the wire, while the latter settled off the pace and off the rail the first turn then eased out into the backstretch, bid nearing the three eighths pole, dueled close in the three path of the far turn, flattened stride inside the sixteenth pole and was nipped from third under the wire. WILLIAM AND MARY rounded the first turn in the four path and raced outside into the backstretch, picked up the chase from the three eighths pole, raced in the three path the far turn and showed little more. FAIRWEATHER FRIEND stalked from the three path, gave chase leaving the three eighths pole, though, weakened at the rail on the far turn.
