QUALITY STEP was settled between foes in the last flight racing to the backstretch, swung outside foes on the far turn to advance five wide into upper stretch, shifted inwards under pressure racing through the lane but edged a rival for the place honors. ATONE was rated off the first flight along the inside racing to the far turn, shifted out nearing upper stretch while awaiting an opening, then was outkicked for second in late stages. GRAND JOURNEY was rated off the second flight while angling to the inside racing to the backstretch, shifted out nearing upper stretch to gain some position three wide between rivals while racing in close quarters but lacked the needed late kick. LORD BARNA settled last near the inside racing to the far turn, angled out five wide in upper stretch and gained some position while making no real impression. CURRENT was rated off the second flight outside a rival in the opening half, was prompted to advance while caught four wide between foes nearing upper stretch, then was taken up out of tight quarters in upper stretch while lacking a further response. A THREAD OF BLUE, urged to prompt the pace along the rail to the first turn, conceded the lead while switching outside a rival racing to the backstretch, pressed the pace outside that foe racing into the far turn but gave way between foes entering upper stretch. RALSTON forced the pace outside a rival racing to the first turn, angled to the rail once gaining the advantage, dueled for command inside a rival racing into the far turn and gave way abruptly into the lane.
