Chart notes
CHESS CHIEF saved ground on the first turn, was urged along on the backstretch, moved from three to five wide under strong urging on the far turn, shifted out around the three-sixteenths, rallied on the outside in the final furlong and closed strongly to get up late. OWENDALE went around the first turn in the four path, stalked the pace on the outside, was asked leaving the backstretch, vied in the three path under urging on the far turn, took the lead in the four path into the stretch, drifted out a bit under a left-handed crop at the three-sixteenths, drifted out while battling gamely in the final sixteenth and was denied but held the place. ENFORCEABLE went three wide on the first turn, settled off the pace, was asked outside the half-mile pole, moved closer late on the backstretch, dropped back under urging while inside on the far turn, came again under vigorous handling in the final furlong, gained fast late and earned the show. ROADSTER went to the front, rounded the first turn in the three path, set the pace through moderate fractions, vied in the two path under threat on the far turn, was roused at the five-sixteenths, lost the lead at the quarter-pole, drifted out while fighting on well in the final furlong and just missed the show. SONNEMAN went four wide on the first turn, settled off the pace, chased three then four wide on the far turn, was driven six wide into the stretch and finished willingly but missed the superfecta. OLLIEMYBOY went five wide on the first turn, tracked the pace on the outside, chased four wide on the far turn, made a bid outside the five-sixteenths, came five wide into the stretch and was out-kicked. MOCITO ROJO broke a bit slow, went six wide on the first turn, settled near the back, fell well behind while five then four wide on the far turn and faltered then was eased in the stretch but walked off.
