HAPPY AMERICAN went three wide on the first turn, settled at the back on the outside, raced four wide on the far turn, dropped in while put to a drive in upper stretch then rallied, chased the top two into the final furlong, made a bid nearing the sixteenth-pole and missed while clear for the show.
