PROTA took the lead nearing the three quarter pole and angled to the inside to rate the pace, came under pressure nearing the three eighths pole, contested the edge nearest the rail on the far turn, drifted a bit leaving the turn but dug in under determined handling to hold off the game challenge of CAPE LOOKOUT, who stalked off the rail then challenged toward the three eighths pole, contested at a close disadvantage through the far turn, was carried out entering the stretch but dug in gamely to the finish. K W CAPTAIN FLINT rounded the opening turn about the three path then stalked into the backstretch, bid from the three eighths pole and raced in range of the lead in the three path of the turn, but flattened stride leaving the turn. BIG BOOTS settled back off the rail, picked up the chase from the three eighths pole and rounded the far turn at the rail, then weakened. MARTIN MAN settled off the early pace about the three path then raced outside into the backstretch, gave chase leaving the seven sixteenths pole, came through the far turn in the six path but showed little more. KILLA DEE saved ground then picked up the chase from the three eighths pole, faded into the far turn then drifted through the turn.
