Chart notes
LONG STATION trailed the field on the inside early, saved ground around the turn, began a bid nearing the three sixteenths pole, gained ground between horses, drifted out in the final furlong and pulled clear late. RIO SECO raced off the pace on the outside early, came around the turn in the three path, swung wide entering the stretch and gained ground late on the outside. CRANKSHAFT led the field on the inside up the backstretch, opened up while saving ground around the turn, was caught in the final furlong and just missed the place. CONTRACTION raced in the middle of the pack early, began a bid from the rail nearing the three eighths pole, entered the stretch in the two path, improved position on the outside, drifted in and was subsequently carried out some by LONG STATION, was outkicked in the final strides and just missed the place. SERTOMAN pressed the pace on the outside up the backstretch, raced in the three path around the turn and faded in the final furlong.
