Chart notes
CARTOONIST set the early fractions while saving ground along the rail, lost the lead coming off of the turn, rerallied and came back on ARGOSY FLEET late to get the win. ARGOSY FLEET contested the early pace, then settled on the turn while two wide and still close up, took the lead into the stretch, began to tire late and was passed by CARTOONIST in the final strides. CONCUR chased the early leaders through the backstretch and onto the turn while three wide, rallied in the stretch to put pressure on the top two and to hold third. DESERT DUDE chased the early pace, was two wide along the backstretch and turn, swung widest for the drive and made a late bid but could not catch the leaders late. PORTANDO settled at the back of the field early, saved ground through the backstretch and onto the turn, showed late interest in the stretch but was outfinished.
