Chart notes
FRESH ONE was away in good order to press the pace of MAJOR SHIPMAN while racing four-wide, moved up to take command nearing the three-sixteenths pole and was ridden out. TIMELY REPLY was reserved just off the leaders early, moved five-wide through the turn and gained the place in the drive. WRITE ME A SONG raced unhurried early, moved six-wide through the turn and finished with a belated bid. MAJOR SHIPMAN broke sharply to set a pressured pace from the inside and gave way after going a half. KWIK lacked early foot, saved ground through the turn and did not threaten. POP CULTURE was void of early speed, raced three-wide through the turn and was not a factor.
