Chart notes
THE CARETAKER broke in at the start, was urged along towards the rear, moved out near the nine-sixteenths, went two then three wide on the turn, swung five wide into the stretch, rallied outside into the final furlong and closed strongly to win going away. ARK IN THE DARK was asked some leaving the gate then well spotted down the backstretch, chased in the two path on the turn, angled out under a drive in upper stretch, rallied into the final furlong, closed well to get the lead into the final sixteenth but was overtaken while clear for the place. DAVID'S GEM angled in while going to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, vied inside of a foe while in the two to three path on the turn, shook clear approaching the quarter-pole, came under a left-handed crop in upper stretch, drifted out into the final furlong, was collared at the sixteenth-pole then weakened but held the show. FULL SALUTE broke a step slow, chased the pace on the outside, made a bid with a half-mile to run, vied three to four wide on the turn, spun five wide into upper stretch then came under a right-handed crop, switched to a left-handed crop inside the furlong marker then had the crop knocked out of the hand of the jockey by the rider of ARK IN THE DARK and tired. KOSCIUSZKO was ridden along near the back, moved out around the nine-sixteenths, advanced closer leaving the backstretch, went four wide on the turn and came up empty. POPIZAR dropped back while ridden along, went five wide on the turn, floated seven wide into the stretch and faltered.
