Chart notes
PLEASE ME was allowed to settle early, was three wide along the turn while still toward the rear of the field, improved position between calls in the stretch, angled out in the stretch for running room, made a late rally and just got up to nip DISCERNMENT at the finish. DISCERNMENT chased the early pace through the backstretch, was gaining four wide on the turn while three across the track, stuck a head in front inside the sixteenth pole but could not hold off PLEASE ME late, while still second best. PLUM WILD pressed the early pace through the backstretch and turn run, was three wide while keeping up pressure on the leader on the turn, lost position heading into the turn and was outfinished late. GLITTER LAKE settled in the midflight through the backstretch, improved position while three wide between horses on the turn but could not go on with that bid and tired in the stretch run. PALM D'ORO broke alertly, set fractions from a ground saving trip, kept a lead approaching the sixteenth pole, was collared by PLUM WILD and weakened in the final stages. HEY WILMAAA settled in the midflight early, saved ground through the turn while still chasing the leaders, and had no late rally in the stretch run. UNUSUAL SECRET had no early speed, continued to trail along the turn while four wide and was empty for the stretch run.
