Chart notes
FEDERAL CASE dueled along the inside, repelled that rival then gamely held off outside opponent through the final furlong. APPEALING FUTURE stalked the pacesetters outside, loomed a threat in mid stretch but could not get by the winner. SPIRIT SPECIAL chased along the inside to the stretch and made a gradual late gain. SOCIETY'S TIGER dropped back after the start, angled wide in the stretch but flattened out. ACED lagged far behind then passed a fading opponent. DANCING BULL dueled outside with a narrow lead then came up empty in the stretch.
