Chart notes
SMOOTH PAPA stalked toward the inside early on, started a bid leaving the three eighths pole and angled to the six path just to the outside of TACTICAL ATTACK into the stretch, dug in for the lead a sixteenth away and drew clear of that one nearing the wire, while the latter, took over soon after the start and rated the pace well off the rail, continued the advantage firmly in hand in the five path of the far turn, came under riders' pressure mid-stretch but was caught at the sixteenth pole and relented. STEPHEN JAMES raced in the four path the first turn then challenged toward the three eighths pole, remained close in the seven path on the far turn, angled in entering the stretch but showed little further. JAKE THE GREAT settled off the pace and well off the rail, picked up the chase from the half mile pole, rounded the far turn about the three path then weakened. MISCHIEVOUSHOLIDAY came through the opening turn about the five path and ran outside into the backstretch, started a bid toward the three eighths pole, rounded the far turn in the six path and showed little in the lane.
