Chart notes
HALFBACK battled for the lead two wide into the stretch, drifted out slightly near the furlong marker and wore down rivals in a game effort. MY TOMMY BOY trailed into the stretch, closed fast four wide and got up for second. ALYCAR FLASH prompted the pace outside four then three wide into the stretch, steadied near the furlong marker and finished with good courage. THE BOOT WILDCAT was hustled from the gate to battle for the lead along the inside the entire trip and was outfinished in the final stages. OSTEENS MESSAGE pressed the pace three wide into the turn then faded. GREG RULES DA had speed along the inside and weakened late. THE RIDER OF ALYCAR FLASH LODGED A CLAIM OF OFUL AGAINST THE RIDER OF THE WINNER FOR INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. AFTER REVIEW THE STEWARDS UPHELD THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH.
