Chart notes
PEQUENO MONTE stalked the early pace, was three wide between foes along the second turn while improving position, pressured SOUTHEAST ASIA into the stretch, and had a late kick in the drive to prevail. CLASSY CHASIE was unhurried early, saved ground into the second turn while still towards the back and made a late rally in the stretch to get second, though was not challenging the winner. SOUTHEAST ASIA set the pace for a quarter mile, then pressured FORT YORK on the front end through the second turn, was two wide on the second turn, led into the stretch but was confronted by PEQUENO MONTE and could not hold that one off, while holding for third. CURRY NATION settled in the midflight, was outrun onto the backstretch and second turn while two wide, was still toward the rear entering the stretch run and made a late rally in the drive, though was not challenging the top three. GOOCH EXPRESS settled in the midflight, was four wide on the second turn, improved position into the stretch but was outfinished in the stretch drive. HOLD ME CLOSE settled in the middle of the pack, was two wide between horses on the second turn while improving position but could not go on with that run and tired in the stretch drive. GEM STATE threw its head at the break, was four wide along the first turn, had no speed early, improved position along the second turn while five wide but tired in the stretch run. FOUR O'FIVE settled in the midpack, improved position along the backstretch, saved ground along the second turn while losing position, and had no late rally. FORT YORK pressed the early pace, then set the pace through the second turn, saved ground along the second turn but gave out in the stretch run.
