Chart notes
LEO stalked the pace into the stretch, responded readily when set down, made the lead three wide and drew off under left urging. SKY WRITER away alertly, set a pressured pace along the inside into the stretch, was no match for the winner but gamely held on for second. MORE THAN GOOD never far back, finished with good courage three wide. ATTUCK went evenly mid track. JOHNNY U prompted the pace two wide into the stretch then was outfinished. BE VEWY VEWY QUIET had speed through the turn then stopped. GEHRIG stumbled out of the gate and fell at the start. THE STEWARDS POSTED THE INQUIRY SIGN BUT TOOK NO ACTION.
