BIG BAD BUD saved ground early, bid three wide on the turn and was up in the final yards following a long drive. G DADDY quickly took control, was challenged in the stretch then held on gamely but was nailed at the wire. MACHO JACK dropped back between rivals down the backstretch and lacked a rally. TOMASCO pursued the loose pacesetter for half a mile inside then faltered. CAPE MAY STYLE lagged far behind then passed fading rival. RELEASETHETHUNDER was urged wide off the leaders and gave way readily.
