Chart notes
MERCY MERCY steadied entering the first turn, saved ground in range, angled three wide near the quarter pole, took over nearing the eighth pole and drew off while ridden out. LA RUSIA prompted the pace two wide, took the lead near the five-sixteenths pole, led to midstretch and was second best late. EIGHTY SEVEN NORTH steadied midway around the first turn, raced three and four wide in midpack, made progress in upper stretch and flattened out. MISS GHISLAINE was firmly rated early, raced three wide, made a middle move into contention and faded in the lane. SMIRKOTCH raced off the pace four wide, angled in nearing the lane, ran up on heels, clipped heels in upper stretch and was no threat. MISS MORENO set the pace along the rail and gave way near the five-sixteenths pole. BOATLOADOFNERVE had some early speed two wide, was rank around the first turn and was through early. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT IN UPPER STRETCH BUT FOUND NO REASON TO ALTER THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH.
