Chart notes
UNION GAP saved ground off the early pace, angled four wide nearing the quarter pole, closed outside, was up near the sixteenth pole and powered clear. MALIBU MANDATE stalked the pace two and three wide, reached even terms in upper stretch, battled on between through the lane and was second best late. FIRST NAVY ADMIRAL set the pace in the two path, was collared in upper stretch and stayed on to save the show. THOROVER was up close inside early, dropped back a bit around the turn, swung five wide turning for home and lacked the needed rally. HAPPY CHAMP failed to menace while racing three wide. BACH tracked the pace three wide and faded nearing the lane. CRAZY SHOT was outrun while racing two wide. TOOK A CAB hopped at the start, raced four wide and faltered nearing the lane.
