Chart notes
ODESSA had the best speed, rated on the front end to the second turn, saved ground to the stretch, dug in boldly when collared by the runnerup in upper stretch and got the nod. LADY PHYLLIS pressed the winner to the second turn, pushed up to engage for the lead into the stretch, battled determinedly but lost the nod. MADE IN KAROO broke a bit slow, trailed to the second turn, was two wide to the stretch, pushed up to loom a threat to mid stretch but was outfinished in the final sixteenth. ROSE PRINCESS tracked the pace to the second turn, bid three wide to the stretch then got outkicked to mid stretch and just missed the place. BLUSHING BAY was outsprinted to the backstretch, settled to the second turn, was three wide to the stretch then shifted widest for the drive and was gaining steadily late.
