Chart notes
MACHISMO never far back, closed willingly four wide through the stretch and got up in the final strides. GEHRIG allowed to settle, closed fast through the stretch along the rail and just missed. ROYAL BLUE BOY pressed the pace two wide, matched strides the length of the stretch and was outfinished three wide. BIG TRIP sprinted to a clear lead soon after the start, set a pressured pace until deep stretch then was outfinished two wide. HIGHLAND PARK HERO bobbled at the start, moved up near the inside through the turn then failed to sustain that bid. BOWMAN had speed three wide into the turn then faded. FRONTLINER was outrun. THE COOKIE MAN failed to menace.
