Chart notes
SLITHER held a slim lead in opening stages then dueled for the lead inside of CREOLE CHARLIE, raced heads apart around the turn then shook free at the top of the lane, stayed sharp under steady pressure and pulled away. CALLINGINTHENIGHT got bumped at the start and raced in the back, swung five wide entering the lane, gathered momentum under a drive and got up late for place. PAPA BRO raced in close contention positioned just off the top pair, hustled up three into the lane, stayed on with response then got edged out late for place. CREOLE CHARLIE got bumped slightly at the start then quickly moved up to challenge SLITHER for the early lead, dueled outside of rival around the turn, could not maintain equal terms at the top of the lane but chased on then came up empty approaching the final sixteenth. GALLANT STAR raced in range and hustled along in steady pursuit, raced two to three wide around the turn then shifted to the rail in upper stretch and failed to move on. Race was hand timed
