DRINKING AGAIN was away a bit slowly, found his stride along the turn while four wide, vied for the lead entering the stretch, dueled with HIJO GALANTE, put that one away late and won in a drive in a good debut. HIJO GALANTE chased the early pace through the turn, was three wide on the turn, dueled with DRINKING AGAIN for a sixteenth, could not get by that one but was a clear second over the rest. PROOF OF REALITY chased U S DEPUTY for a quarter-mile, saved ground on the turn, was outrun off of the turn and tired in the stretch run, but held for third. SURELY SPECTACULAR had no speed early, was two wide while trailing on the turn and had no rally in the stretch. U S DEPUTY set the pace for a quarter-mile, was two wide on the turn while being pressured, lost ground off of the turn and gave out in the late stages.
