Chart notes
MONSTRODAMOUS pressed the pace of COUNT ALEXEI while racing four-wide, moved up to offer a bid with a furlong to run, vied with that for and proved best in a stiff drive. COUNT ALEXEI set a pressured pace from between foes, opened a clear margin nearing the five-sixteenths marker, responded when challenged by the winner in mid-stretch, vied with that rival but could not match strides late. DAVID NOSE BEST was reserved just off the leaders from the inside, remained inside for the drive and lacked the needed closing response. CONTINUE ON VICTOR was off a step slow then allowed to settle, raced off the rail through the turn, angled out into the stretch and finished evenly. LODESTONE lacked early foot, raced five-wide through the turn, angled in nearing the three-sixteenths pole and was not a factor. SHAMISEN was void of early speed, raced three-wide through the turn, steadied nearing the quarter, angled in nearing the three-sixteenths pole and did not offer a bid. TIZASTONE settled off the leaders early, moved three-wide through the turn and weakened in the drive.
