Chart notes
MACHISMO had good position early, rallied three wide at the quarter pole, drew off late under mild urging to win going away. CUTLER set a pressured early pace, was no match for winner for the winner late but held gamely for place. ROYAL BLUE BOY vied for the lead until the top of the stretch and gradually weakened. FRONTLINER was unhurried early, swung wide in the stretch and had a mild bid. FOREST CHATTER well placed and saved ground, had no rally. THE COOKIE MAN pressed the pace until the top of the stretch, then faltered. GEHRIG wide early, was outrun.
