Chart notes
TARTAN THE BULL bumped the runner up soon after the start, chased the pace while saving ground along the rail, rallied through upper stretch to make the lead at the furlong marker and drew clear under strong handling. KING VALERO was bumped then squeezed at the start, trailed into the stretch, closed fast along the rail and got up for second. SOUTHERN SPIRIT broke in front, set the pace until mid stretch then was outfinished in the three path. HALFBACK was in tight along the rail at the five eighths pole, angled out then finished with good courage in the six path. BOWMAN had brief speed. THIS MAN CAN close up early in the three path, was through after a half.
