Chart notes
SPEED WAY showed brief speed then settled in to stalk the pace, closed three-wide late turn, launched a determined stretch drive and collared the leader in the late stages under a drive. RACE FOR PINKS dueled, was headed and made it his job to force the pace, rebid on the turn, quickly moved clear then was unable to stave off the winner in the final yards. LIVERPOOL MAN had brief speed then settled in mid pack, was hustled two to four-wide on the turn then closed steadily through the stretch. SUN FORESTER was bumped BY MAAKWA leaving the gate, settled off the pace, was hustled from the rail on the turn, chased into the stretch but failed to menace. MAGIC CONQUEST hopped out of the gate and was bumped by MAYOR OF ESSA, stalked the pace, chased hard late turn but evened out in the late stages. KING OF GYPSIES was pinched back att he break and settled off the pace, closed angling from two to four-wide on the turn, chased into the stretch but never reached contention. WHIZMO broke slowly but close to striking range on the backstretch, was hustled from the rail to three-wide through the turn then was game in the stretch but failed to menace. MAAKWA broke inward and bumped SUN FORESTER, moved up to take the lead midway through the backstretch, set the pace, was headed midway through the turn, chased to the stretch and faded. MAYOR OF ESSA broke outward and bumped MAGIC CONQUEST, settled in striking range, came along the rail and two-wide through the turn, backed away late turn and lacked a closing response.
