MISCHIEF'S MACHINE moved up out of the chute to take over before a quarter, dueled into the turn, disposed of that foe to get a brief breather midway on the bend, shrugged off a second rival turning for home to be clear again, not threaten to the wire while kept to pressure. FIFTY PROTECTION within striking distance behind the dueling leaders, advanced and mounted a brief bid outside the winner turning for home, proved no match for that one in the run to the wire, clear of the rest. SNIVELING lacked speed, came three wide into the lane while under the crop, could do little with the top two the final furlong, gained the nod at the wire for the show. HEZA WAY MAKER last away to also be back early, steered out to be four wide turning for home, modest interest midtrack, missed the show. BIG BAND'S LUCK broke sharp to be clear in the chute, relinquished the advantage to the winner soon after, dueled with that one into the turn and then stopped in the drive.
