AUSTRIAN brushed with a rival at the start, went four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, was roused five then four wide on the turn, chased the winner under a drive in the stretch and finished willingly for the show. GRAPE NUTS WARRIOR traveled three wide on the initial turn, settled near the middle of the field, was coaxed along passing the half-mile pole, chased four then three wide on the far turn, pursued the winner in the drive and lacked the needed kick. THE GOLDEN DOOR raced inside to the two path on the first turn, settled towards the rear, dropped from three to two wide on the far turn while roused, moved out in upper stretch and improved position. GREAT WORKOUT saved ground on the first turn, settled off the pace, was asked three wide on the far turn, spun four wide into the stretch under the crop and failed to rally. THE LAST ACE bumped soundly with an opponent at the start, went to the front, dropped to the rail on the first turn, showed the way while getting company to the outside on the backstretch, lost the lead passing the seven-sixteenths pole and faded.
