Chart notes
MIAMI MUMBLES , snugly in hand early, advanced outside horses leaving the backstretch, took command entering the far turn, pulled away and was under brisk urging in mid stretch. SPEIGHTSTER RED gained a two wide lead mid way on the backstretch, weakened through the stretch and held the place. SHANGHAIED ASTORIA lacked speed, checked behind horses approaching the far turn, circled four deep entering the stretch and failed to rally. ARTISTIC REASON , three wide the first turn, raced between horses in the stretch and came up empty. DEPOSITORY showed speed along the inner rail, lost the lead mid way on the backstretch then steadied entering the far turn. U S CONSTITUTION , steadied in traffic near the half mile, weakened.
