Chart notes
DECIMATE sprinted clear soon after the start, raced off the rail while setting the pace, increased his advantage into the lane and was ridden out to be kept to task. BIG PAPER DADDY lacked early speed, saved ground through the turn, drifted out inside the sixteenth pole and finished willingly. EL MAESTRO was off a step slow, rushed to contend, chased the winner while racing four-wide and failed to gain in the drive. THUNDER MUSIC settled off the leaders early, moved six-wide through the turn and was not a factor. TRICKY LEE showed no early speed, saved ground through the turn, remained inside into the stretch, angled out nearing the sixteenth pole, steadied and lost best chance for better placing. MIDNIGHT MOJO lacked early foot, raced three-wide through the turn, angled out further into the stretch and did not threaten. RED HURRICANE chased the leaders while racing four-wide and weakened after the opening quarter. NEUMEISTER chased the winner from the inside and weakened after going a half. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AND INQUIRY CONCERNING THE STEADYING OF TRICKY LEE INSIDE THE SIXTEENTH POLE AND AFTER REVIEWING THE FILMS CONCLUDED THAT BIG PAPER DADDY HAD DRIFTED OUT AND CAUSED THE INFRACTION AND WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM SECOND AND PLACED FIFTH.
