THICK HAZE tracked the leaders outside rivals in second flight in the opening half, steadily gained terms with the pacesetter on the far turn, then continued in a protracted skirmish with that foe to late stages to prevail under firm handling. HOLD THE SPICE settled in the last flight along the inside racing to the backstretch, shifted out while awaiting an opening when caught in traffic racing into the far turn, swung out six wide racing into upper stretch and found his best stride late to close the gap on the winner while prevailing for the place honors. VIVO tracked off the second flight near the inside racing to the backstretch, steadied momentarily avoiding close quarters after a half, was prompted to advance gaining position three wide between foes on the far turn and prevailed for a share. CAPTAIN DRAKE, urged inside rivals disputing the pace from the outset to the far turn, dueled for command past midstretch and gave out late. EDGIE REGGIE was rated off the second flight along the inside in early stages, shifted out to advance between foes after a half, was shuffled back behind a tiring rival racing through the far turn and had no closing bid. SAN VALENTINO settled outside foes racing to the backstretch, was caught four wide racing through the far turn and offered no rally. BOBBY BOOTS angled inside tracking off the first flight to the backstretch, saved ground to the lane and steadily faded. DERBYS MONEYMAKER, urged prompting a rival's pace racing to the backstretch, gave way between foes entering the far turn.
