Chart notes
CONTRAFLOW bore out leaving the starting gate, sprinted clear soon after the break, set the pace in the two path, opened up on the far turn, drifted out near the sixteenth pole and was held sway under urging. BRUTUS , steadied in tight quarters behind the winner soon after the break, raced in the two path down the backstretch, eased out mid way on the far turn, was fanned four wide turning for home and had a mild rally. GALATIANS , along the inner rail most of the trip, found room inside horses in the stretch and had a slight rally. CELTIC TREASURE , along the inner rail chasing the pace, drifted out entering the stretch and weakened. ARTISTIC REASON , two wide both turns chasing the pace, was carried out turning for home and weakened. AMERICAN PIPER , three wide both turns, gave way entering the stretch and was eased late.
