Chart notes
WEDGE POND broke sharply to take command, saved ground through the turn, drew clear when given his cue and held under late pressure. WYE CROSS trailed the field leaving the backstretch, swung out leaving the final turn, gained quickly through the stretch and missed. ASTRONOMICAL took back leaving the backstretch, shifted outside and improved deep stretch. ALONGTHEWATCHTOWER bid between rivals leaving the backstretch and faded steadily inside. PAPICHULO sat just off the pace in the early stages, fanned three wide on the turn and yielded into the stretch.
