Chart notes
BLACK CANDY contested the pace through the backstretch and took the nod midway on the turn, drew clear past the eighth pole then held on under steady urging. BE BE BOP chased, rounded the turn about the three path, dug in to take second inside the sixteenth pole and was gaining steadily on the winner. HE'S ON THE LINE contested the pace inside, gave up the advantage at the rail midway on the turn, dropped back into the stretch and flattened stride. GRAND FIBER chased, rounded the turn near the rail, eased outward in the upper stretch and finished evenly. ROCKET SOUND gave chase, bore outward on the turn and raced wide into the lane. WILLIE THE WHALE gave chase, rounded the turn near the rail then weakened.
