CITY STEEL disputed the pace from the inside with EDDIE AND THE KING, responded when challenged by MASTER RECOVERY with a furlong to run, vied with that rival and gamely prevailed in a stiff drive. MASTER RECOVERY was off a step slow, raced just off the leaders early, moved four-wide through the second turn, reached the winner with a furlong to run, vied with that rival and just missed. GUARDINGTHEMONEY was bumped at the break, showed no early speed, raced three-wide through the second turn, angled out further into the stretch and finished with a steady bid. EDDIE AND THE KING was away in good order to duel for the early advantage with the winner while racing three-wide and gave way through the final furlong. LINDA'S BALLET was bumped at the start, showed brief speed, raced five-wide through the second turn and weakened.
