Chart notes
SATURDAY'S GOLD allowed the dueling leaders to go early, three wide into the lane, challenged on the outside inside the furlong marker, kicked well clear. MINISTER'S MEDAL broke alertly, dueled up front in the run up the backstretch off the inside, held a narrow advantage past the furlong marker, proved no match for the winner late, held sway for the place. SAPONI void of speed, came four wide out of the turn, rallied mildly to be slowly getting to the runner up late. PAT ME DOWN off a couple of lengths slow, trailed early as a result, moved out to be well out in the course into the turn, picked off a single tiring rival while not a serious threat. SMITTYS PATRIARCH asked a bit to maintain inside position early, dueled into and through the turn, continued on equal terms with the runner up into the straight, caved in the final furlong.
