Chart notes
TAKE CHARGE DEPUTY settled off the leaders early, moved five-wide through the turn, responded when asked and wore down CATFISH HUNTER in the closing strides. CATFISH HUNTER dueled for the lead with DUTTON while racing three-wide, opened a clear margin nearing the quarter, remained in control through mid-stretch but could not resist the winner late. OF GOOD REPORT was bumped at the break, lacked early foot, raced four-wide through the turn, angled out approaching the stretch and finished with some late run. GORDON ANTHONY was forwardly placed early, raced off the rail through the turn and finished evenly late. VICENTE'S SHADOW broke awkwardly and was bumped, lacked early foot, raced three-wide through the turn and did not reach contention. DUTTON was away alertly to duel for the lead from the inside and weakened after going a half.
