Chart notes
SWEEPING EDGE saved ground, remained inside for the stretch run and rallied strongly to prevail. BIG HEARTED FACTOR sprinted clear, was challenged on the far turn and stayed on well. HATTIES JEWEL settled while three wide, advanced on the far turn, was swung four wide into the stretch and rallied. ROCK CITY ROADHOG chased the pacesetter and offered no response when called upon. CAMPAIGN SPY was in tight quarters at the thirteen-sixteenths pole, clipped heels, was settled, moved out five wide into the stretch and could not menace. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO AN INCIDENT ON THE FIRST TURN. AFTER REVIEWING VIDEOTAPED REPLAYS, THEY DISQUALIFIED ROCK CITY ROADHOG FOR INTERFERENCE AND PLACED HIM FIFTH.
